I'm A Sacrament :-)

I took yet another quiz (culled from another blog), this one based off of Avery Dulles' Models of the Church. I tried pasting in my results but they looked atrocious (and I didn't feel like messing with the HTML), so I'm cutting and pasting straight from the website:

You scored as Sacrament model.
Your model of the church is Sacrament. The church is the effective sign of the revelation that is the person of Jesus Christ. Christians are transformed by Christ and then become a beacon of Christ wherever they go. This model has a remarkable capacity for integrating other models of the church.

I studied this in college, took a course while working with the Diocese, and I've re-read Dulles' book as well, and I resonate with the sacramental model - it was and continues to be my favorite model.

My next two models were Mystical Communion (78%) and Servant (72%), both of which I remember liking as well (but not as much as the sacramental model).

What can I say? I'm Catholic through and through! But more then that, I like seeing the church (each and every one of us an individual and all of us corporately) as a living sign and an efficacious symbol of the presence of God in our midst. It reminds me that we are called to be light for the world, salt for the earth, and leaven for the bread; that we are to light our candles instead of cursing the darkness; that we are called to herald the inbreaking of the reign of God to all the corners of the world.

Silly me - almost forgot: the quiz can be taken here. Enjoy! :-)

Blessings & Peace,
Hugo

Um...Hugo? Are you only gonna be a quiz blogsite now?

You're insights are brilliant, I'd love to see some new nuggets of wisdom.

Oh and by the way, I am a Mystical Communion model follwed by Servant model.

And for the record, I had only heard of 2 of the hymns they mentioned, and needless to say I don't really like hymns that much.

Iggy: Looks close to mine - great minds and all that :-)

Jaded: :-) I'm lazy, plus we're already going in to work, plus I'm lazy, plus all the rain and wind has made lots of yard work for me, plus I'm lazy, plus my wife and I are trying to exercise more, plus I'm lazy, plus my brotehr and his new wife are in town until they leave for Spain, plus I'm lazy, plus my son wants attention for some wierd reason . . . plus I'm lazy.

Yeah - I know there's been lots of fluff and not enough meat (or tofu for the veggans out there) . . . I promise I'll put up a real post before the end of July. :-) (thanks for the prod!)

Blessings & Peace,
Hugo

I bombed on this quiz. I’ll have to take it again because I lost the results page before I could get it posted but I came out Herald at I think around 69%. The next model way down in the 40% range or so. I had a problem trying to decide how to answer between what Church “is” and what it “does”. I know they’re not in conflict but it made me indecisive. I think that kept my percentages down. The hymn options left me out in the cold too.

I’ll be watching for a “real” post soon and I plan to use it for a blog model. :-o (hehe)

lol - some of the songs were "Catholic only" I think - so that would skew the results. The quiz as a whole, taken from a Catholic theologians materials, was prob. skewed as well towards Catholics taking it , , , so don't feel too bad. :-)

As for the post, I can feel one shaping up - I'll try to get to it tonight once we get home. You're free to use it, as long as I get royalties :-)

Blessings & Peace,
Hugo

Hugo as promised I used your next post as a model and it is honestly a very difficult thing to do. If I get anything from it we can split the profits. ;-)
